This journey began at the festive occasion celebrating our niece Loren Speziale’s marriage to Bobbi Ludwig. It was a large gathering held at the Mountain View Winery in Stroudsburg, PA.

Lobsters and Blueberries

A few days later we joined our traveling friends Joyce and Alan Breach at Acadia National Park, Maine.  Jim has worked very hard since his hip replacement in April to be ready for this active hiking trip.  So while Joyce and Alan climbed the more strenuous and steep Beehive Trail, Jim and Carolyn hiked the rocky trail to the Bowl and met them for lunch.

Of course we all enjoyed visiting Beal’s Lobster Pound after

our day trip by ferry to the remote Cranberry Islands.

 

   

   

Jordan Pond and The Bubbles

A more demanding day of hiking to the Bubbles began by following the trail half way around Jordan Pond,  then over the Bubbles saddle and down the rocky 30% grade back to the pond.
