Walt Disney World
Resort
Fort Wilderness
Campground
As this facility is centrally located with transportation by
boat or bus to each of the theme parks we did not move our motorhome for the
week we stayed at Walt Disney World. Jim even took the bus to the camp grocery
store when we needed milk. This campground lived up to its top 10 rating.
Magic Kingdom
Having been to this park previously we picked our favorites
for this return trip including memories from the 1964 New York City World’s
Fair at the Carousel of Progress.
Epcot
Our favorite attraction at Epcot was Soarin’ Around the
World while free-flying from a hang glider over some of the world’s landscapes
and man-made wonders such as The Great Wall of China and the Matterhorn. We
were glad we scheduled two days for Epcot so that we could visit this
attraction for a second ride.

Animal Kingdom
With the prediction for heavy rain and colder weather for Sunday we changed our planned visit to the Animal Kingdom for the day before. As might be expected the Festival of the Lion King was a very colorful Africa theme action show. Just as action packed was the Pixar film It’s Tough to be a Bug with several creepy-crawly moments in the dark.

“Magic Band”
We made good use of our “Magic Band” which easily gave us
access to each theme park, our selected FastPass attractions and charging
purchases. It was easy to reprogram the band on our Disney APP any time we
might change our choice of attractions. We also used our Disney APP to check
attraction wait times and to order ahead for dinner. Welcome to the iPhone age.
Disney Springs
With numerous shops and restaurants, everything Disney is
for sale here – apparel, souvenirs and of course ear hats which seemed to be the most popular item.
We now travel to the west coast of Florida through an area
of numerous lakes, state parks, motorhome resorts and of course alligator
warnings.
