1831 De Witt Clinton
The De Witt Clinton was the third train in America built for actual service on a railroad. Previously, only horse
drawn cars had travelled on these rails. This historic trip was from Albany, NY to Schenectady and return.
During the maiden trip the De Witt Clinton locomotive reached a top speed of 30 mph.
